01

Eligibility

The Women Photography Awards is open to women photographers of all experience levels, amateur and professional alike, from anywhere in the world. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age. Staff members of Women Photography Awards, employees of affiliated companies, and representatives of sponsoring organizations are not eligible to enter.

For the purposes of competition eligibility, the Women Photography Awards defines a woman as any individual who self-identifies as a woman. In alignment with standards recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Human Rights Office (OHCHR), eligibility is based on an individual’s internal and deeply felt experience of gender identity rather than sex assigned at birth.

By completing your registration and submitting an entry to the Women Photography Awards, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. You also acknowledge that Women Photography Awards is authorized to process your registration data in accordance with applicable privacy standards.

02

Copyright & Usage Rights

All copyright and intellectual property rights remain exclusively with the photographer at all times. Any image featured or published by Women Photography Awards will always include the photographer's credit. Usage may extend to publications by Women Photography Awards media partners.

By entering, participants acknowledge that submitted images may be used by Women Photography Awards for promotional and marketing purposes, including exhibitions, print materials, and digital media directly connected to the competition, without financial compensation. Winners and placed entrants additionally consent to being featured in the annual winners' publication.

Entry Requirements

  • Entries must be submitted through the official competition portal at womenphotographyawards.com. Submission is only complete once the entry fee has been paid and the submission form filled out in full.
  • All work must be submitted digitally. Physical prints will not be accepted under any circumstances.
  • There is no cap on the number of images a single photographer may submit.
  • Images may be captured using any medium, film, digital camera, or mobile device.
  • Entrants may submit work across multiple categories. However, once payment is processed, categories cannot be modified, added, or removed.
  • There are no restrictions on when the submitted images were originally captured.
  • Winners will be required to provide a high-resolution image (minimum 3000px on the longest side at 300 dpi) for inclusion in the Women Photography Awards Annual Book. To ensure the authenticity of the awarded works and verify that they have not been generated using AI, the Women Photography Awards reserves the right to request the original RAW file or another unedited original image file from selected finalists or winners as proof of authorship. Failure to provide the requested files within the specified timeframe may result in disqualification, with no right of appeal.
  • All submitted work must be entirely original and must not infringe upon any third-party rights. Entrants must hold sole copyright over every image entered and must have secured consent from any identifiable individuals featured — or from their parent/guardian if the subject is under 16. Entrants are also responsible for ensuring their photographs were taken in full compliance with applicable laws.
  • The names of all winners and honorable mentions will be published on the Women Photography Awards website.
